Vadodara: Tight security arrangements, that include deployment of 2500 police personnel and installation of CCTV cameras, have been made for Sunday's series opener between India and Australia at the Reliance Stadium.

Rakesh Asthana, the city police commissioner, told PTI that CCTVs have been installed for the first time at both the hotel where the teams are staying and at the stadium to improve vigilance during the match.

"This arrangement has been made to prevent any type of untoward incident during the match day as the installations of CCTVs will help in keeping a watch over the proceedings and monitoring of the match," Asthana said.

The Police and Baroda Cricket Association do not want a repeat of 2007's incident when some spectators in the stands created a scene by throwing empty water bottles on the ground in the wake of India's poor show against Australia.

Wary of the incident, arrangements for video-graphing of the proceedings have also been made.

"There will be deployment of six superintendents of police, 25 Deputy superintendents, 25 inspectors, 104 sub-inspectors and 900 police constables in the stadium which is divided into six sectors," Asthana added.
