Vadodara: Australia captain Ricky Ponting won the toss and elected to bat in the opening one-dayer of the seven-match series against India here on Sunday.
Australia, who are visiting India on the back of their Champions Trophy triumph, included Adam Voges in their line-up in the absence of Callum Ferguson.
India, on the other hand, were missing Yuvraj Singh owing to a finger injury, while Munaf Patel and Amit Mishra were not included. Ravindra Jadeja was back in the side.
