On Thursday, Elizabeth Smart, who was kidnapped seven years ago from her bedroom, testified in a Salt Lake City courtroom against her alleged abductors.

Brian David Mitchell and Wanda Ileen Breeze were both indicted for the abduction, but were found incompetent to stand trial.

However, a judge ruled this week that testimony from Elizabeth, who is now 21-years-old, is relevant to Mitchell’s competency, according to the Associated Press.

At the time of her abduction, Elizabeth was only 14, and Mitchell was accused of kidnapping her to make her part of his polygamous life-style, thereby fulfilling religious prophecy.

On the stand, Elizabeth testified Mitchell used religion to fuel his sexual desires and that he raped her on a daily basis.
